OUR FAMILIARS

NOVEMBER 5–15, 2026

Artwork by Hannah Anderson

Venue Partner: Hannah Anderson’s Studio @ Hybrid House

Co-Curated: Hannah Anderson & Sylvia Mallory

An intimate group exhibition honoring the animals and critters that have guided women across cultures and millennia. This show is a soft-lit altar to the creatures who’ve shared our journey.

Join abstract artist Hannah Anderson (Richmond, VA) in her personal studio at Hybrid House, alongside three other artists, for a peek into the divine tales we weave with our best friends, the ones with fur, feather, scale, and shell, and a knack for showing up right when we need them, as sacred family, guardians, ancestors in another form, and fleeting visitors arriving like a message.

Whether they outlive us or pass through in a single shining moment, they remind us we’re part of a larger whole: medicine, omens, protectors, and tiny chaos-oracles with excellent timing, always with the purrrrfect timing. A familiar finds you, and gifts you what you need.
